- Advanced RGBW technology unveiled ahead of 15th anniversary
- Launch set for UAE’s Eid Al Etihad festivities
Emaar Properties has revealed a dramatic lighting transformation for the Burj Khalifa, the tallest structure in the world. The innovative RGBW system combines advanced technology with architectural sophistication and is set to premiere on 1 December 2024 during the UAE’s Eid Al Etihad celebrations. This transformation marks the beginning of celebrations for the tower’s 15th anniversary on 4 January 2025.
The enhanced lighting system brings a vibrant spectrum of colours and dynamic patterns, adding a new dimension to the tower’s iconic appearance and reinforcing Dubai’s global reputation for creativity and innovation.
The project involved six months of preparation, including mock-up testing to ensure a flawless transition to the new system. The RGBW fixtures, which replace static lights, allow for intricate, addressable lighting effects that cater to both everyday displays and festive celebrations. These effects integrate seamlessly with the Burj Khalifa’s media screen while maintaining its streamlined aesthetic.
Mr Ahmad Al Matrooshi, Executive Director at Emaar Properties, said: “Burj Khalifa has always stood as a beacon of what is possible when vision meets innovation. This lighting overhaul is a testament to our continuous pursuit of excellence and a tribute to the UAE’s spirit of progress. As we unveil this stunning upgrade during Eid Al Etihad celebrations and approach the tower’s 15th anniversary, this transformation marks a new chapter in its legacy, reaffirming Dubai as a city of boundless ambition.”
This innovative upgrade sets new standards for architectural lighting, blending technology with artistry and inspiring similar projects on a global scale.
