Funding Xchange (FXE), a leading provider of assisted lending and portfolio monitoring solutions, has appointed Paul Gordon as new Non-Executive Chair to guide the Group through its next growth phase. This builds on the successful delivery of SME lending technology to major financial institutions like Barclays, Shawbrook, and Monzo, enhancing access to suitable lending options while lowering service costs.
The appointment follows the completion of FXE’s Series B funding round in 2024, led by Barclays. The focus will be on leveraging banks’ drive to transform commercial lending through advanced decision-making technology that enables faster, more efficient credit assessments.
The new Chair brings decades of experience in retail and commercial banking, including executive leadership roles across the UK, Australia, and Asia. With extensive Board-level expertise, the appointee will draw on a career marked by first-hand experience in adopting digital technologies in commercial lending, positioning FXE to further its innovative impact in the sector.
On joining Funding Xchange, Paul Gordon said, “Funding Xchange is changing the way in which businesses gain access to finance and helping lenders develop smarter, more efficient digital tools and pathways. I very much look forward to working with Katrin and the team as the business continues transforming the way the commercial financing market operates.”
Paul Gordon succeeds Simon Featherstone, who joined the business five years ago and led Funding Xchange through its successful Series B funding supporting the scaling up of FXE Technologies, the business’ technology arm.
Co-Founder and CEO of Funding Xchange, Katrin Herrling said, “We are extremely grateful to Simon, who joined up upon completion of our Series A and has helped us navigate the upheaval of Covid to position the business to raise a successful Series B earlier this year. Under his leadership, the Group has matured both in its capital raising and strategic direction.
I am excited to work with Paul as large institutions increasingly turning to FXE to access our unique set of capabilities that enable rapid digital transformation and the delivery of ambitious lending targets.”
